TRAINING

From training to employment. From employment to emancipation.
The labour market today offers considerable opportunities, but at certain conditions.
One of these is that people looking for a job must be trained.

The vocational training system offers education that is:

- targeted, because it focuses on developing specific skills for a particular occupational profile, and for immediate entry into the labour market;

- brief, since the duration of training course ranges from the few hours to a maximum of 1200 hours (a year’s training);

- job-oriented, since almost all the training courses include a significant in-company training period. The training agencies also constantly co-operate with the companies in their sector, so they can effectively help their students find jobs;

- wide-ranging and flexible, because the courses cover many professional sectors and offer a great variety of attendance schedules (short or long courses, in the daytime or evening, with locations near one’s own home). Note however that not all training agencies work in several sectors: some are specialised in training for specific sectors only;

- free, because the courses are funded by Regione Piemonte and require no attendance fee – indeed some of them even offer a small grant.
